Millwright Crew Leader

The accountabilities for this position are twofold.  First, incumbent will be the lead millwright on site for all service work tasks such as belt cleaner install and maintenance, head lagging replacement, conveyor component replacement, inspection, and preventative maintenance of conveyor systems along with other task as we continue to grow.  Secondly, millwright will lead a crew in completing the previously mentioned tasks and assist in training new employees to improve their skill set.  Incumbent will possess the conveyor knowledge and fabrication experience to complete all tasks in a safe and efficient manner.  This position requires a high level of customer service skills along with a positive attitude that motivates the team.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Always adhere to all company and customers’ site safety rules
  • Adhere to all MSHA and OSHA requirements
  • Ensure all PPE is in good condition and always worn
  • Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment
  • Safely operate a variety of tools including but not limited to drills, grinders, welder, torches
  • Safely operate mobile equipment such as telehandler, forklift, aerial lift……
  • Manage projects to make sure all employees are always working safely at all times
  • Follow project instructions from Services Manager and report on progress
  • Assess tasks and properly plan for execution of service work
  • Consult with facility contacts prior to, during and after work to notify of work progress
  • Use various hand and power tools to complete service tasks
  • Proficient in cutting and welding on various conveyor designs
  • Ability to reconfigure applications to properly install equipment while meeting all structural requirement
  • Ability to assess proper location of installation using mathematical calculations
  • Complete assigned tasks in a timely and efficient matter
  • Cleanup jobsite when work is complete
  • Ensure all equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly
  • Complete post work analysis and communicate results with Services Manager
  • Assist with developing new talent for future roles as millwrights

  • Must be able to work in a variety of environments such as heat, cold, snow, wind, rain………
  • Incumbent will at times be exposed to noisy, dusty, dirty, muddy environments
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed. Some holiday work may be required
  • Ability to travel and possibly be away from home for one to two nights at time

Qualifications:

  • High School degree or equivalent educational experience; vocational school or trade apprenticeship a plus
  • 3-5 years fabrication experience
  • 3-5 years mobile equipment experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience analyzing and designing blueprints
  • 1-2 years’ experience as a crew leader and/or supervisor
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Certified Welder Certificate or the skills to meet the qualification
  • Incumbent will be required to attend Flexco BCP school and any other training that Services Manager deems necessary to be competent on product installs.
